SLYD Body Glide Silicone Lube Review

We’re always a little skeptical when a company doesn’t have their own website. When we Google SLYD, we can’t find anything except for re-sellers, which means there is a lot of information lacking about this lube. The website that is listed on the bottle doesn’t work… … …

Company: Honestly, we don’t have a clue. There is absolutely no information available.

Ingredients: Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E). There is no information about osmolality or pH.

Compatible With: It is not recommended to use silicone lubricant with silicone toys without doing a patch test first as some silicone grades will negatively interact with each other. It can be used with glass, metals, wood, stone, porcelain and ABS plastic. Silicone lube is great for masturbation or penetrative sex (vaginal or anal) as it is long lasting and requires less re-application. Also compatible with shower-play as it is water-resistant.

Container: We quite like the look of the container and the lid makes it travel-compatible. However, the metal container holds onto the silicone lube and makes it very slippery. I would wrap it up carefully during storage so that it didn’t come into contact with any clothing. I’m always worried about getting silicone lubes on fabric.

SLYD Body Glide Silicone Lubricant Review

See: Totally clear liquid. Spreads easily right after being poured and then slows down quite drastically. It is much slower to spread than most of our other lubricants.

Smell: A very mild chemical smell. Like, very very very mild smell of chlorine.

Taste: Mostly tasteless but compared to the Intimate Earth Elite Silicone Lube there is a slight chemical taste.

Feel: The texture feels silky like most silicone lubes, however this one feels just a little bit thicker, which might make it great for anal sex. Often anal-specific lubes are a bit thicker for padding. Silicone lube won’t get absorbed into the skin so you will want to wash well with soap afterwards. Always be careful of your sheets with silicone lube.

Conclusion: SLYD Body Glide Silicone Lube itself seems to be great to use with compatible materials and body parts, however it is really weird that there is absolutely no information about the company. We don’t like how we can’t contact anyone or learn about the osmolality or pH. As advocates for safe body products, we can’t recommend this one because we don’t know anything about it. If anyone at SLYD wants to send us an e-mail, we would love to update our review!

Recommended for: If you aren’t concerned about the lack of information, then you might like this product if you like thicker lubricants.

Not Recommended for: People who are incredibly sensitive to taste. People who want to know more information about their lubricant…

October 2016 Update: Peepshow Toys has removed SLYD from their stock. Instead, we suggest purchasing the wonderful Intimate Earth Elite Silicone Lube.
